Workshop for Social Issue use of Plastic & Suicide Preventon:

Date: 24th March 2019

Memesis the Adhikari team of Daulat Ram College in Delhi collaborated with the Tare Zameen Foundation and conducted workshops, activities & discussions to create awareness among children regarding social issues, like problems arising due to the use of plastics, suicide prevention, etc. More than 200 children participated in this workshop. We are grateful to the Daulat Ram College Adhikari Team to collaborate with the Tare Zameen foundation for the success of this workshop.

The workshop takeaway:

  • The use of single-use plastic should be banned
  • We should use less plastic products as possible.
  • It is preferable to use metal water bottles, metal lunch boxes, and jute bags instead of plastic ones.
  • We should try and encourage more people to reduce the use of plastic in our day-to-day life.
  • More than 700 000 people die by suicide every year. Furthermore, for each suicide, there are more than 20 suicide attempts.
  • Suicides and suicide attempts have a ripple effect that impacts families, friends, colleagues, communities, and societies.
  • Suicides are preventable.

Much can be done to prevent suicide at the individual, community, and national levels.
